I have distinct memories of swagmen calling into our place when i was a child.  A stone placed on top of the entrance fence post was known to be a sign of a friendly place for travellers.

When working at Bimbi on the farm , Sally and I spent many hours planting trees. Maintaining tree guards,  barricading them against the maurading animals and caring for them during dry times was hard work.  The black and white markings are also symbolic





Ben Hall’s Cave Road.  Mixed media on old tarpaulin  84x124cms 2025

It was the main road to the Weddin mountains, where Ben had a hideout. Allegedly, my ancestors aided him with fresh horse and food in those hectic times,  such was the Irish comradery
